Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain

On my recent one-year blogoversary trip to the Arabian Gulf, I spent a couple of nights in Bahrain, an island country with a population of 1’200’00. My host was Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain, which is located right next to Bahrain’s international airport and a 10-minute drive from the capital’s city center.

I stayed in a spacious room on the third floor with a view over the pool and the city’s skyline.

It was quite late in the evening when I arrived at the hotel and I was a little tired and hungry (as always…). The hotel staff were really nice and had already prepared a three-course vegetarian in-room dinner for me. What a lovely surprise!

Speaking of in-room dining: Mövenpick Hotels have a foodgasmic ice cream in-room menu, with many colorful ice cream creations. Perfect for a cozy night in, don’t you agree?

Breakfast is served every morning at the hotel’s lobby-level restaurant. There is a large choice of dishes from different cuisines: Middle Eastern, continental European, North American… I went for the local specialties and was especially happy to indulge in dates with my morning coffee with milk.

Next to the restaurant is the hotel’s spacious lobby lounge, where guests can have something to eat or drink while enjoying a view over the hotel’s outdoor pool area.

Every Friday the entire lobby as well as the restaurant and bar areas are reserved for the massive brunch. You can see what’s on offer in my previous post with videos. The atmosphere is fun and the many food stations so beautifully decorated – great for families and groups of friends.

Those who love to swim (sadly, I can’t swim!) will like the hotel’s pretty swimming pool. For fitness fans, there are two tennis courts and two well-equipped fitness rooms, one of which is reserved for women.

My verdict? Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain is a good address for business travelers looking for 5-star accommodation right next to Bahrain’s airport. The Friday brunch is definitely worth checking out – both for hotel guests and Bahraini locals.
